Professional  Biography

I, Jessica Rice, have over 16 years of technical experience including programming, web and graphic design, project management and instructional design. I have been involved in the design and management of more than 30 Computer-Based, Web-Based, and Video/DVD Training courses, including the coordination of foreign language translations of technical courses. My web development experience, involving sales, marketing, training, and information-gathering efforts, began in 1994.

Over a 6 1/2 year period, I designed and/or managed multimedia courses or demos for the following clients.

  • American Honda
  • Mercedes-Benz
  • Chrysler
  • Toyota
  • Saturn
  • Delta Air Lines
  • ASA
  • Federal Express
  • Program Executive Office, Aviation (PEOAVN), US Army
  • Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA)
  • National Children's Advocacy Center
  • Southern Company
  • Baxter International (healthcare)
  • John Deere
  • DTN Productions (international and domestic protocol)
  • Discover Card
  • Aviation & Missile Research, Development, & Engineering Center (AMRDEC), US Army

These training courses, which were developed using the ADDIE process, had varying applications, including sales and marketing, technical and mechanical, inventory and inventory allocation, human factor, safety, simulation, and tutorials. In both computer- and web-based applications, I participated not only in the management and design but also in the programming and quality assurance aspects.

Previous work experience included database and network administration, technical illustration, requirements analysis, software instruction, software and hardware troubleshooting, Ada programming, and technical editing. I hold a BS degree in Computer Information Systems, with minors in Business Administration and Commercial Photography.
